"Martial Boxing" offers a unique approach to boxing by emphasizing it as a martial art, with the primary mission of empowering people with values like respect, trust, integrity, and dedication. The core idea is to combine the physical discipline of boxing with character development from martial arts, including self-defense skills and overall well-being for individuals of all ages.
Martial Boxing, a mixed martial arts class centralized around boxing while incorporating ancient lessons but teaching them modernly.
Sensei believed that boxing is the foundation of all arts. Reading the telegraph of a punch, executing punches with precision, and maintaining agile footwork to secure advantageous positions are deemed core concepts in all martial arts, and boxing puts a heavier emphasis on these skills.
Martial Boxing not only reinforces these fundamental concepts but also imparts lessons grounded in realism, addressing the dangers present beyond the safety of the dojo. “I will strengthen your body and mind so that when you leave my dojo, I will have the confidence in you to be safe, and in return, the confidence you gain can only be beneficial to every aspect of your life.”-Sensei Patrik.
The curriculum of Martial Boxing extends beyond physical techniques, aiming to cultivate respect for all forms of life, humility to empathize with others' struggles, courage to confront anger directly, mental composure in intense situations, and the wisdom to refrain from using force unless absolutely necessary. The overall objective is to empower students with techniques that can be employed for self-protection and the safeguarding of others, fostering a well-rounded and responsible approach to martial arts.
Patrik Allen, born in Florida in 1988, then moved to Texas when he was young. From there, he embarked on a memorable journey at age 12 when he joined his stepfather’s Karate class. The lessons honed his skills and knowledge of martial arts techniques. He also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America at the age of 18.
At 21, he served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Colorado from 2009 to 2011. In 2012, he crossed paths with his sensei, setting the stage for years of dedicated martial arts training. In 2016, Patrik decided to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. Stationed in Hawaii, his quest to continue his martial arts journey led him to boxing. During that time, he crossed paths with his future wife, who was pursuing a business degree at BYU Hawaii.
His unwavering belief in the value of realistic training is encapsulated in his motto: "Studying martial arts is good, but having a realistic point of view in the dojo is essential to safety because danger can come from many directions." Patrik's commitment to self-defense and personal safety is what drove the inspiration that formed Martial Boxing.
Outside of his martial arts endeavors, Patrik is an avid writer and reader, currently working on a book. He highly recommends six impactful books, including "Verbal Judo" by George J. Thompson & Jerry B. Jenkins, "Thinking in Systems" by Donella H. Meadows, "Outwitting the Devil: The Secret to Freedom and Success" by Napoleon Hill, "Sell or Be Sold" by Grant Cardone, "Drive" by Daniel H. Pink, and “Thinking Fast & Slow” by Daniel Kahneman.
Patrik's journey is a testament to his passion for martial arts, personal growth, and steadfast commitment to self-defense. His unique blend of experiences, from military service to martial arts training, forms the foundation of his mission to empower people through boxing.
At Martial Boxing, our mission is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for people of all skill levels to learn and improve their boxing technique. We believe that boxing is not just a sport, but a way of life that promotes discipline, focus, and self-confidence.
